In answer M.Dubois, we are to use wire wheels on this expedition. Although it would look fantastic putting it back on wooden wheels we feel wire are rather more reliable and ,of course, easily available. Oli
In the 1907 event the heat tended to cause wooden wheels to dry out and spokes to shrink causing the wheels to disintegrate. The solution was to soak them in a pond every evening! I think our Rudge Whitworth wires will be a better bet!
