A Poor Performance from Makita

Vicko snapped this photo whilst I attempted to cut a 4" hole in a cross member with a hole saw.....the Makita drill soon gave up and I had to resort to a jigsaw - 8mm thick steel took a while! Perhaps Makita could supply us with a free replacement.....

An 8mm cross member?! How on earth do you think you are going to go FAST if you build a car using material that would not look out of place on a battleship?! What you wanted to use was 5mm with webs top and bottom to save weight. Might not have burnt little Makita out then.

If you have a power tool that sounds like a young woman you picked up on RussianBrides.com web site what do you expect?!?

You better pick up a replacement on your way through Moscow if non of the Playmates takes your fancy.

Do you know I once new a chap who had a type of Ford model A special. It had 2 U channels as the chassis and a funny chain drive gearbox, and, he was always promising to come and see me in it. He never turned up as I believe he tried to fit a Gypsy Aero engine to it but the flimsy U channel chassis made of recycled bean tins started cracking up. Lucky we have an original chassis made of really good 1907 steel on the Mors!

Your friend's special sounds like a very interesting and fast car. If he manages to get it going and comes around to see you, could you tell him the Stig would really like to thrash it around our test track.
