Sent the specification details and a form 5/55 along with photographs off to VSCC today to try and get a quick authorisation for the registration document which we will need for the car's transit visa in China, Mongolia and Russia.
Hope DVLA respond quickly. Anyone know how long this will take from application?

Edward - once you have relevant forms completed, you can take into DVLA in person (we used Wimbledon - not sure if one closer). Anyway, you then only have to wait for their system to spit the reg no' out - mine took ten days after handing in forms and car inspection. Good luck
Thanks for this, very useful. I did not know we could take them down there in person. I'll speak to the VSCC and see if I can get the papers out of them.
